Call for Submissions: EASST/4S Joint Meeting, Prague 2020

EASST and 4S Joint Meeting

Prague, Czech Republic, 18-21 August, 2020

Call for Submissions

Submissions Close 29 February

Locating and Timing Matters: Significance and Agency of STS in Emerging
Worlds

The general call for EASST+4S 2020 is closing Saturday this week!

We invite submissions of single papers, closed panels and Making and
Doing interventions. Please visit the conference website
to find out more information on the
different ways you can engage.

For the meeting in Prague, we especially welcome inquiries into longer
term continuities and discontinuities and material legacies of
modernity—both desired and undesirable—that have been built into our
sociotechnical infrastructures and ways of living. We want to pay
special attention to the ways in which geopolitical, economic and
epistemic globalization is localized and distributed over Planet Earth.
What are the means and ends of STS in different places? What does it
take to intervene and be relevant here and there? Whom do we want to
speak and act with? Who wants to speak and act with us? Read more about
the conference focus and themes
.

All submissions are due on Saturday, February 29, 2020. We look
forward to your ideas!

Tereza Stöckelová and Filip Vostal, Program Committee Chairs
