I forward this petition, posted on the "people vs big Tech" mailing
list, as it matters for the STS community.
After Elon Musk's frenetic (double) Nazi salutation it is undeniable
what has been clear for long: Authoritarian Tech bros are trying to
overthrow democracy.
Please sign the petition to show your support and defend democracy and
free press in the EU.
With the DSA and DMA the EU has a sword - it just needs to use it.
Please forward the call to colleagues.

Hello,
A few weeks ago, we launched a petition urging the EU to protect
democracy against Elon Musk's X platform, particularly in response to
his disproportionate promotion of the live stream featuring the leader
of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) far-right party.
We plan to deliver our petition
,
which has garnered over 125,000 signatures, to Commissioner Virkkunen,
along with a letter asking her to investigate Musk for violations to the
DSA and DMA, and impose sanctions.
The letter
focuses specifically on Musk. Please let us know if you would like to
add your signature to the letter and/or if you have any additional input
for the letter by end of the day Tuesday, January 28, 5pm CET. We hope
to send the letter by the end of next week.
