Invite: New MA programme in Transversal Design, FHNW Basel
Dear all,
In these times of such flux and uncertainty, where there is so much yet to fight for (and so much more still to love), I'm pleased to be able to share with you an exciting opportunity to join our wildish new MA programme in Transversal Design at FHNW HGK School of Art & Design in Basel, a beautiful small city along the Rhine made up of medieval alleyways and more art museums per capita than most cities in Europe. Despite this being a scholarly list, it still feels right to share it here, as I know many of us also work in between/across worlds, academic positions, realities, etc. So, perhaps you know a good place that this message can make its way to. π±
Our students join us from across a wide diversity of ages, fields and cultures (with STS well represented ;))) to explore what it means to decolonise design from within. Each member of the community arrives with an active creative practice, and a readiness to face the immense challenges of polycrisis through collaborative approaches to social, ecological and spatial justice. We are nourished by deep connections with Critical Media Lab , HyperWerk Lab , IXDM
and other local spaces and networks across Basel and beyond ~ and in these times where collective liberation is more crucial than ever, a transversal community is growing, across and in-between.
So, if you're feeling like now might be the time for yourself (or someone you love!) to take a leap into the wild unknown and start something new, let this be your sign to get in touch. Details about the programme are available in this e-flux callout and on the FHNW website , and the deadline to apply is one month from now, on 15 March.
See you there ~~
