Seminar Series, which will be held online.

We are excited to announce that Banu Subramaniam will be our speaker. Banu
Subramaniam is the Luella LaMer Professor of Womens and Gender Studies at
Wellesley College. Trained as a plant evolutionary biologist, Banu engages the
feminist studies of science in the practices of experimental biology. More
information about her research is available in the attached flyers. In this
session, our colleague Lisette Jong from the University of Amsterdam will
serve as the discussant.
The Vital Elements Seminar Series is part of the ERC-Advanced research
project, VitalElements. The series addresses global challenges such as
migration, environmental crises, and colonial relations by exploring vital
materialities like water, seeds, phosphate, salt, oil, and sea sponges that
are essential for life or can spur death in their absence.
