Sathyamala SOAS, University of London, and Institute for Human Development, New Delhi ‘Digitalising food assistance: political, economic and food security effects across the Global North-South divide’ 27th November Christian Krupitzer University of Hohenheim ‘Digital food twins – Concept, use cases, potential’ The lecture series is organized in cooperation with the Unit for Biocultural Variation and Obesity (UBVO) at the University of Oxford and convened by Joachim Allgaier (Fulda University of Applied Sciences) Tina Bartelmeß (University of Bayreuth) Katharina Graf (Goethe University, Frankfurt) Laura König (University of Vienna) Tanja Schneider (Technical University of Denmark) The seminar series follows an interdisciplinary scoping working on digital foodscapes, that took place in Hanover, Germany, in February 2025. It brought together an international and interdisciplinary group of scholars and researchers that share an interest in digital technology and its manifold and complex relationships with food, eating, cooking and nutrition and nutritional sciences. The workshop resulted in a position paper on the concept of -- digital foodscapes -- which can be found here: https://osf.io/preprints/socarxiv/pzmu5_v1 Digital Foodscapes: Past - Present - Future. Position Paper. It is planned to further develop the concept of digital foodscapes in following events, publications and research projects. We would also like to organize a panel on digital foodscapes at EASST 2026 (8-11 September 2026) in Kraków, Poland.
