Examining the impact of streaming on the global production and flow of
television and film, this book provides an innovative theoretical framework
to understand how asymmetric dynamics of power play out in the era of
streaming.

It explores how global streamers—Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, and
HBO Max—and local platforms emerging in the Global South—Globoplay in
Brazil, JioHotstar in India, and ViX in Mexico—are reshaping the future of
global media.

Authors: Joseph Straubhaar, Swapnil Rai, Melissa Santillana, and Silvia
Dalben.
