CfP: “The Power of the Mundane in Nuclear Energy Cultures”
Dear colleagues, With apologies for cross-posting, the following Call for Papers for a special issue may be of interest to you or people in your networks. Please note that the extended call for papers is attached as a PDF to this email, with more detailed information on the idea behind the special issue. CALL FOR PAPERS | We hereby invite contributions for a special issue on The Power of the Mundane in Nuclear Energy Cultures, to be published in the transdisciplinary, public-peer & peer-reviewed journal SaND (Safety of Nuclear Waste Disposal - https://www.safety-of-nuclear-waste-disposal.net/). As a young journal, it aims to bring together transdisciplinary expertise concerned with nuclear waste disposal issues and related topics. As part of their transparency policy, manuscripts can be publicly co-reviewed by the research community. TIMELINE | Abstracts (max. 400 words) will be due on 30 October 2024 for priority consideration. Selected full papers are due in July 2025. Ahead of the July deadline, we invite accepted candidates to discuss their early drafts. Therefore, we plan an on-site authors workshop at BASE, the German Federal Office for the Safety of Nuclear Waste Management, in Berlin around March or April 2025 (exact date tbd.) to discuss first drafts of the papers and to develop a common understanding of the special issue. FORMATS & EDITORIAL | We welcome original research articles (max. 8000 words in length including references) as well as shorter theme-specific reviews, commentaries, and creative submissions. Guest editors include Sarah Glck (Federal Office for the Safety of Nuclear Waste Management, Germany), Sergiu Novac (Linkping University, Sweden), and Hannah Klaubert (Linkping University, Sweden). Please send the abstracts to Sergiu Novac (sergiu.novac@liu.se ). CONTACTS | Sarah Glck sarah.glueck@base.bund.de, Sergiu Novac sergiu.novac@liu.se, Hannah Klaubert hannah.klaubert@liu.se.
