Dear colleagues,
On behalf of Prof. Dr. Maria Rentetzi of the Chair of Science, Technology and Gender Studies at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universitt Erlangen-Nrnberg, I would like to draw your attention to the upcoming opening of the exhibition Living with Radiation. The exhibition is hosted at the Siemens Healthineers MedMuseum in Erlangen, Germany, and the opening will take place on June 12 at 6 pm. and will be opened by the President of the Friedrich-Alexander-Universitt Prof. Dr. Joachim Hornegger. The exhibition serves as the visual culmination of the five-year ERC-funded research project on the role of the International Atomic Energy Agency in the history of radiation protection. It revolves around three main topics: the direct effects of radiation on the human body; the efforts of scientists to protect people from radiation; and the role of institutionsprimarily international onesin regulating all things nuclear.
Living with Radiation presents this multifaceted history through images gathered from archives and photographic collections worldwide, representing a unique and thought-provoking perspective on the history of radiation protection throughout the long 20th century. The exhibition lasts until August 31, 2025.
