New Book: Geopolitics at the Internet's Core

Dear colleagues,

I hope you had a great summer!

Please allow me to share the news of the publication of our new book with Fiona Alexander, Laura DeNardis, and Nanette Levinson: "Geopolitics at the Internet's Core". The book is released by Palgrave-Macmillan in the series Information Technology and Global Governance, edited by Derrick Cogburn.

This book is something in between a companion piece and a sequel to "The Turn to Infrastructure in Internet Governance" (2016, also with Palgrave), examining how technical infrastructure is leveraged as a proxy for political and economic power. It focuses more specifically on the Internet Protocol and its ecosystem, and uses it as an emblematic case study of how geopolitical conflicts have arisen around a complex set of technical specifications at the Internet’s core.

The book is available in paper edition and in digital version here: https://link.springer.com/book/10.1007/978-3-031-89478-7

Please let us know if you are interested in the book but for any reason (first and foremost lack of institutional login) you are unable to access it.

Kind regards, Francesca

PS: Apologies for cross-posting.
