PDC2020 DOCTORAL COLLOQUIUM <br> <br>Wed like to invite doctoral students to participate in the Participatory <br>Design Conference 2020 Doctoral Colloquium. The submission deadline is <br>approaching quickly! <br>[PDC2020 DOCTORAL COLLOQUIUM] <br>A full-day session intended for PhD students working within the field of <br>Participatory Design (PD). The session will provide students with a safe and <br>open space to discuss what matters to them concerning their studies, and <br>collaboratively seek ways to address them. Participants will have the <br>opportunity to present their work, share their experiences, and receive <br>feedback, support, and suggestions from experienced PD researchers and peers. <br> <br>Important dates <br>1st December 2019 Submission deadline <br>15th February 2020 Notification of acceptance / feedback <br>15th March 2020 Final submissions deadline <br> <br>Review Process <br>Selection for participation will be based on the quality of proposal, taking <br>into account how the research is related to PD. Moreover, the aim will be to <br>ensure diversity by including students with different disciplinary emphases, <br>at different stages of their research programs, and coming from different <br>cultural backgrounds. <br> <br>Submission Formatting and Length <br>The proposal must include these four components: 1) an overview of ones PhD <br>project, including research motivations and questions, methods, intended <br>contributions, progress to date, and plans for further research, 2) three key <br>works that influenced ones study 3) the main challenge(s) ones facing in <br>their PhD currently, and 4) what one wants to gain from participating in the <br>Doctoral Colloquium. <br> <br>Submissions should be done following the simplified template available on the <br>submission page. <br>Submissions should be written in English and should not be longer than 4 <br>pages. References do not count towards the page limits. <br>Doctoral Colloquium submissions will not be published in the conference <br>proceedings but are made available to all colloquium participants. <br> <br>Attendance <br>Accepted applicants will be asked to do some pre-conference preparation for <br>example, reading the other participants submissions, or relating your <br>proposal to a chapter from the PD Handbook. More directions will be provided <br>after acceptance.
