Do you have robust experience in collecting and analyzing <br>major qualitative datasets, and strive for high-quality research? <br>The Department of Management Studies at Aalto University School of Business <br>seeks applications for a two-year position as a Postdoctoral Researcher in <br>Organization and Management subject. The start date is between 1 February and <br>30 April 2020 (the date is to an extent negotiable). The position is in the <br>Academy of Finland project studying the transition of quantum computing from <br>labs to markets (2019-2023). <br>The project focuses on the socio-economic aspects of market emergence for <br>quantum computing, and the related science and technology. A prior <br>understanding of quantum computing or quantum physics is not expected - the <br>research team led by Prof. Nina Granqvist will support and train the candidate <br>in developing the suitable subject knowledge during the project. <br>We expect the candidate to have a demonstrated ability to conduct qualitative <br>data collection and analysis independently. Candidates with prior empirical <br>and conceptual understanding of technology and/or market emergence and <br>development are prioritized. Knowledge of the relevant literatures in <br>organization theory (e.g. institutional theory, sociology of markets, <br>socio-materiality, micro-social approaches), the sociology of science and <br>technology, or technology strategy are considered important. Moreover, a <br>suitable candidate has ambition to develop as a scholar, and to conduct high <br>quality research with the aim to publish in the best management journals. <br>Evidence of publishing skills is a merit. The position is associated with a <br>very moderate teaching load - one course per year. <br>We look for scholars who are completing, or have completed within the past <br>four years, their doctoral studies in a relevant field of study. The position <br>requires fluent skills in the English language. Additional language skills are <br>a merit. The post-doctoral researcher is required to be in residence for the <br>duration of the appointment. <br>We offer <br>The postdoctoral scholar joins an engaged research team consisting of <br>post-doctoral researchers, doctoral candidates, and the principal investigator <br>with experience on technology and market emergence as well as publishing in <br>the leading journals. The project is well on the way, providing a great <br>setting to learn and to contribute. Moreover, we offer the opportunity to <br>collect data and participate in events abroad, and an opportunity for research <br>stays in our partner organizations in Europe and US. <br>The scholar joins a group of highly motivated and productive scholars.
