Call for Contributions: Alexander von Humboldt Conference - Berlin August 2019

<br>Dear colleagues,

<br>on the occasion of Alexander von Humboldt’s 250^th birthday and in light 
<br>of his groundbreaking KOSMOS lectures in 1827, Humboldt-Universität zu 
<br>Berlin is staging the KOSMOS Conference in Berlin from 28^th -30^th 
<br>August 2019.
<br>
<br>The Geography Department and IRI THESys of Humboldt-Universität zu 
<br>Berlin invite scientists to contribute to the conference and to share 
<br>their research on the sustainability transformation in the 21^st 
<br>Century. Contributions are welcome from all fields of research, and not 
<br>limited to the six principal strands provided below:
<br>
<br>*Publics and ethics of sustainability*
<br>
<br>*Democracy, governance, and societal conflicts in a globalized world*
<br>
<br>*Economies beyond unlimited growth*
<br>
<br>*The land and the ocean - from the global to the local *
<br>
<br>*Urban and rural: a necessary partnership*
<br>
<br>*Water and biosphere: preconditions of survival*
<br>
<br>We welcome all kind of scientific contributions to the /expert forums/ 
<br>(oral 
<br>presentation), the related /poster session/ 
<br>(poster 
<br>presentation of scientific work), or the /bar camp & market place/
