Call for papers – special issue “Energy Futures and Nuclear Infrastructures” of Science & Technology Studies

Dear Colleagues, We are delighted to announce the call for papers for a special issue entitled "Energy Futures and Nuclear Infrastructures: Legacies, Fragilities, Imaginaries" in the Science & Technology Studies journal. Short argument: This issue addresses the current nuclear relaunch announcements and socio-political rehabilitation through a low-carbon framing as an entry point for STS research. We argue that the persistence of the nuclear past imprints both the present of this industrial sector and the shapes of its imagined and envisaged energy futures. And beyond an industry that is singular in many aspects, we seek to shed light on processes that appear in many other fields of technological development. The full argument as well as practical modalities of submission are available here: https://sciencetechnologystudies.journal.fi/announcement/view/755 Submission of abstract proposals are expected before 16th December; full papers are expected before 15th May 2025. Looking forward to reading you!
