CfA: Open Panel on "Medical Critique in Hashtags? Chronic Health Conditions on Social Media" at STS-Hub 2025
Dear Colleagues,
We would like to draw your attention to our panel, "Medical Critique in Hashtags? Chronic Health Conditions on Social Media", at the upcoming STS-Hub in Berlin from 11 to 14 March 2025, and encourage you to submit your abstracts on this highly relevant topic.
Our aim is to discuss the role of social media as a platform for generating awareness and forming interest groups around medical critique. In particular, we want to explore chronic health conditions that receive inadequate attention within the established (bio)medical system, such as ADHD and autism in women, endometriosis, ME/CFS, and/or Long COVID. Lisa Wiedemann was part of planning the panel and will join us as a discussant and provide commentary on each individual paper.
If you are interested in participating in our Open Panel, you are invited to submit your individual paper proposal, including a 200-word abstract and a 75-word bio, to us by 31 October 2024.
You can find the call for our open panel here: https://sts-hub.de/25/
If you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Best regards, Ann Kristin Augst (kristin.augst@tu-dortmund.de), Bianca Jansky (bianca.jansky@uni-a.de), and Lisa Wiedemann (wiedemal@hsu-hh.de)
