Pathways of STS: Where we come from and where we [can] go Inaugural workshop of the STS India Network

December 14 & 15, 2023 IIT-Hyderabad

Scholars working in Science and Technology Studies (STS) in India and across the South Asian region have been housed in various departments and disciplines, building community in serendipitous ways that are often linked to their participation in international forums that have acquired both definition and visibility. This is despite the fact that the region has had a vibrant STS tradition that has generated a significant and diverse literature. This 2-day event hopes to bring together STS scholars across career stages from across the region, and those from elsewhere who work on/in the region to think together on how we might build a community, exchange ideas, and foster collaborations. The workshop welcomes participation from researchers who have a longstanding interest in STS as well as those who may wish to explore the field and find their own "pathways" into it.
