Dear scholars, I am happy to circulate this position as associate professor in Sustainable Transition and Valuation at Department and Planning and Sustainable Development, Aalborg University Copenhagen. The chosen candidate will be affiliated with the Markets and Valuation research group headed by Professor Peter Karne.
The Design for Sustainability research group invites applicants that can contribute to the area of sustainable transition and valuation studies.
The candidate must have qualifications within areas such as:
- STS economic sociology and market-making
- Valuation metrics and social acceptance/resistance dynamics
- Controversy mapping and forms of expertise in sustainability transitions
The position requires applicants that can demonstrate:
- experience with relevant research in socio-technical approaches to transition and valuation
- relevant teaching experiences
- an ability to work in interdisciplinary teams

The Associate Professor in sustainable transition and valuation will become part of an interdisciplinary research group - Design for Sustainability - that draws on STS, exploring how design approaches and methods can contribute to sustainable change. The Design for Sustainability research group has a number of focal areas: staging of collaborative design, designing sustainable engineering; circular economy as and by design; market and valuation studies and the role of expertise in the green transition. The Department of Planning has about 200 employees at the campuses of Aalborg and Copenhagen. The department provides excellent research and teaching in the field of planning, technology and society in order to create a more sustainable future.
