On Mai 1, 2021 the Kaete Hamburger Kolleg "Cultures of Research" will start at RWTH Aachen University (Germany). This is an Institute of Advanced Studies funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, which offers international fellows from the humanities and social sciences as well as those from the natural, life and technical sciences a free space for their own research and for joint exchange. The interdisciplinary research focuses on a better understanding of the transformation of science in the course of its digitalization in order to make complex systems investigable. The position offered here is a post-doctoral position with the possibility of habilitation. The researcher will develop the integrated program of events of the Käte Hamburger Center for Advanced Studies in cooperation with the directors of the Center. Prerequisite is a completed PhD in the field of sociology or ethnography and/or STS. The position will be offered as a fixed-term employment contract. Subject to approval, the position is to begin on 01/07/2021 and run up to 30/04/2025. The position is rated with a civil service salary EG 14 TV-L.
