session at this years 4S conference in Sydney, Aug 29 Sept 1 2018.

Abstracts close: Feb 1st, 2018.
The STS Making and Doing Program invites 4S members to share expression of
their on-the-ground practices and innovations in scholarly knowledge work in a
range of formats extending beyond academic papers or books. Due to the success
of previous events, this is the third time an STS Making and Doing session
will form part of the conference program see
2015 and 2017
exhibits.
Reflections sparked by past STS Making and Doing sessions can be viewed in the
recent issue of Engaging Science and Technology focused on Making and Doing
Politics through Grassroots Scientific Research on the Energy and
Petrochemical Industries. And in
Gary Downey and Teun Zuiderent-Jeraks chapter in the recent STS Handbook,
Making and Doing: Engagement and Reflexive Learning in
STS.
Awards for the STS Making and
Doing session will be judged during the conference, and formally acknowledge
and celebrate distinctive achievements in practices of STS making and doing.
