Public Science experimental spaces for society-centred innovation.

As part of the TUM 2030+ Excellence Strategy, our university attaches great
importance to society-centred and responsible science and innovation. This
raises questions:
* Is science a public practice?
* What does it mean for science to be public?
* Who is involved, for what purposes and under what conditions?
The Public Science Lab (PSL) is an experimental research infrastructure at TUM
that will provide answers to these questions. The lab is developed by the
Department of Science, Technology and Society (SOT) and pursues a
participatory, inclusive and responsible approach to scientific knowledge
production. Central to this is the participation of diverse publics in all
phases of scientific research. In this way, we broaden the knowledge and
experience base through which societies work on the challenges of our time.
The event is based on the four facets of the Public Science Lab: research,
cooperation with politics and administration, non-university teaching and
learning, and experiments at the intersection of art and science. We invite
you to join our thinking and development process in conversation:

Im Rahmen der Exzellenzstrategie TUM 2030+ legt unsere Universitt groen Wert
auf gesellschaftszentrierte und verantwortungsvolle Wissenschaft und
Innovation. Das wirft Fragen auf:
* Ist Wissenschaft eine ffentliche Praxis?
* Was bedeutet es fr Wissenschaft, ffentlich zu sein?
* Wer ist beteiligt, zu welchen Zwecken und unter welchen Bedingungen?
Das Public Science Lab (PSL) ist eine experimentelle Forschungsinfrastruktur
der TUM, die Antworten auf diese Fragen geben wird. Das Lab wird vom
Department Science, Technology and Society (SOT) entwickelt und verfolgt einen
partizipativen, inklusiven und verantwortungsvollen Ansatz der
wissenschaftlichen Wissensproduktion. Zentral dafr ist die Beteiligung
vielfltiger ffentlichkeiten in allen Phasen der wissenschaftlichen
Forschung. Wir verbreitern so die Wissens- und Erfahrungsbasis, mittels derer
Gesellschaften die Herausforderungen unserer Zeit bearbeiten.
Die Veranstaltung orientiert sich an den vier Facetten des Public Science
Labs: Forschung, Zusammenarbeit mit Politik und Verwaltung, aueruniversitre
Lehre und Lernen, und Experimente am Schnittfeld von Kunst und Wissenschaft.
