[Logo-WTMC-Beeldmerk-Slogan-121031]
PhD Workshop ‘Providing Evidence for Policy Making’
29 November 2019 (09:00 – 17:30)
Rathenau Instituut, Anna van Saksenlaan 51, The Hague

The Rathenau Instituut organizes a one-day training workshop for post-second year WTMC PhD’s on providing evidence for policy making. WTMC is the Dutch Graduate School of Science, Technology and Modern Culture. Next to its central academic training program WTMC also prepares PhD candidates for acting as professional ‘change agents’ in ongoing transformations of research systems, socio-technical systems and cultural and political roles of science and innovation.

The training workshop ‘Providing Evidence for Policy Making’ is based on the Rathenau Instituut’s experience in supporting policy-making in the field of science, technology and society. The aim of the course is to allow participants to experience the main challenges in providing evidence for policy making, and to develop basic skills to cope with these. The training will specifically focus on the skills that are needed to

- develop the key message of your research;

- communicate with policy makers as an expert;

- write policy briefs.

The workshop is suited for WTMC post-second year PhD candidates and can accommodate 12-16 participants. The workshop will be organized and supported by
Barend van der Meulen (University of Twente), Ira van Keulen (Rathenau Instituut) and Patricia Faasse (Rathenau Instituut).

Participating PhD candidates should already have some results from their research. These can serve as valuable inputs to the exercises. Participants are requested to prepare a brief note (500 words max.), in which they describe

- contents of their research;

- relevance of their findings for specific policies and policy makers;

- possible or desired impacts of their work.

Workshop fee: 100 EUR (including food & drinks).

To reserve your place, please complete this Google form by 31 October 2019.

Your note with input must be sent to Patricia Faasse (p.faasse@rathenau.nl) by 31 October 2019.

If you have any questions regarding this workshop, please feel free to contact Patricia Faasse: p.faasse@rathenau.nl
_______________________________________________
EASST's Eurograd mailing list
Eurograd (at) lists.easst.net
Unsubscribe or edit subscription options: http://lists.easst.net/listinfo.cgi/eurograd-easst.net

Meet us via https://twitter.com/STSeasst

Report abuses of this list to Eurograd-owner@lists.easst.netview formatted text
