Architects: portraits of a practice

With apologies for cross posting, those with interests in architecture,
design, creativity, work, ethical self-formation, knowledge and imagination
may be interested in my recent book, just out with Cornell UP: Architects:
portraits of a practice.

Further details available here:
http://www.cornellpress.cornell.edu/book/?GCOI=80140103130180

The book is an ethnographic account of the life and work of architects that
explores some simple but profound questions, through the lens of a small UK
practice: Where do designs come from? What is imagination as a social
practice? What is the relationship between a personal and a working life?
Perhaps most profoundly, it is an account of the everyday struggle to live a
good life in professional circumstances that constantly challenge the ethical
positions and ideals of those involved. It's written from the perspective of
an anthropologist but tries to convey the interest of these everyday working
lives, for a broad readership.

Best wishes,

Tom.
