Lecturer Philosophy of Nutrition (and more), University College Venlo, Maastricht University

                Info:
Maastricht University’s youngest University College is situated in Venlo; University College Venlo (UCV). UCV was started in 2015 and currently offers two concentrations in the life sciences and social sciences with a thematic approach on Health, Nutrition and Business. UCV wants to strengthen its curriculum with expertise in philosophy with a broader interest in other disciplines in the humanities. We expect the candidate to be able to apply his expertise in the humanities to practical issues in topics central to the curriculum: health, nutrition and business.
As a member of UCV core staff, the appointee is expected to play an active role in the UCV academic community, and carry out day-to-day academic tasks such as academic advising, admissions interviews, and supervising student research.
Requirements:
We expect applicants to (preferably) have a PhD in a relevant scientific domain like philosophy, sociology, political science or a related discipline. A passion for high-quality teaching in a small-scale setting is essential, as is proficiency in English on the level of a native speaker. A wide-ranging academic interest, willingness to teach courses outside one’s primary field of specialization, teaching experience in a demanding international environment, and experience with a liberal arts and sciences curriculum are assets.
