Associate Professor of Digital Sociology (75%) - University of St. Gallen, Switzerland

<br>The University of St Gallen seeks to appoint an Associate Professor of Digital
<br>Sociology within the School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS) from
<br>February 1, 2020.
<br>
<br>The successful candidate will be a qualitative social researcher. She or he
<br>will investigate the theories, methodologies and practices involved in the
<br>interaction between digital technologies and society and assess their
<br>political and ethical implications. Possible research areas include the
<br>workplace, networks and communities, social relationships, intimacy and the
<br>self.
<br>
<br>Candidates will be committed to interdisciplinary research and teaching and
<br>will cooperate with colleagues in the SHSS and in the Universitys main
<br>disciplines. The languages of instruction are German and English.
<br>
<br>Applicants must have a PhD, first-rate publications, and outstanding
<br>university teaching experience. The teaching requirement in the Contextual
<br>Studies program
<br>(https://www.unisg.ch/en/studium/darumhsg/kontextstudium) is 6 hours a week (approximately 2
<br>courses) per semester.
<br>
