Nordic STS 2019 - Call for sessions

                CALL FOR SESSION PROPOSALS
4th Nordic Science and Technology Studies Conference
Conference: June 13-14, 2019

Pre-Conference: June 12, 2019
Tampere University, Finland

The field of science and technology studies (STS) has become
increasingly prominent in the Nordic countries. The purpose of the
biennial Nordic STS conference is to promote exchange of ideas and
collaboration among STS scholars by providing a regional forum for
presenting on-going research, networking, and initiating new ideas and
conversations. The Nordic STS conference has been organised since
2013, when the Centre for Technology, Innovation and Culture/TIK at
University of Oslo took the initiative of organising the first
conference.

We are happy to announce the 4th Nordic STS conference to be held at
Tampere University, Finland, in June 13-14. A pre-conference workshop
for junior researchers will take place June 12th. The conference is
organised in collaboration with The Finnish Society for Science and
Technology Studies and the Research Center for Knowledge, Science,
Technology and Innovation Studies, Tampere University. At the fourth
Nordic STS conference the keynote speakers are: Harro van Lente,
Maastricht University, Mianna Meskus, Tampere University and Maria
Nedeva, University of Manchester.

This year the conference has a two-stage submission process. In this
first stage, we invite scholars to submit thematic session proposals
that introduce a particular area of study, research problem, or
research approach relating to science and technology studies.
Proposals for thematic sessions should be short (max. 300 words) and
contain a brief description of the topic as well as the names,
institutional affiliations, and email addresses of the session
organisers. The accepted sessions will be published in the second
stage of the submission process.

Please submit your session proposal by December 5, 2018, using the
following link: https://www.lyyti.in/NordicSTS2019_CfS

If you do not have a suggestion for a thematic session this year,
don’t worry! We will publish a call for abstracts in December. You can
then see if your research fits into one of the accepted thematic
sessions or you can submit your abstract without an identified session
(in which case, the conference organisers will place your presentation
to a suitable session). The deadline for submitting abstracts will be
January 18, 2019.

Summary of important dates:

1. Submission of session proposals: December 5, 2018
2. Submission of abstracts: January 18, 2019
3. Submission of abstracts for the pre-conference: January 18, 2019

The organisers of accepted sessions will be informed no later than
