<br>Das Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies
<br>e.V. (IASS) in Potsdam ist eine von den
<br>Forschungsministerien des Bundes und des Landes Brandenburg gefrderte
<br>Einrichtung und widmet sich in einer ganzheitlichen Form transdisziplinr und
<br>international der Erforschung des Klimawandels, der Komponenten des Erdsystems
<br>und der Nachhaltigkeit.
<br>
<br>Fr das neue BMBF-finanzierte Forschungs- und Politikberatungsprojekt Sozialer
<br>Strukturwandel und responsive Politikberatung in der Lausitz schreiben wir
<br>derzeit drei Stellen aus. Das Projekt untersucht die soziale Strukturdynamik,
<br>die den Kohleausstieg regional und berregional charakterisiert und macht
<br>Vorschlge dazu, wie Kooperationsprozesse einen demokratisch gestalteten
<br>Strukturwandel ermglichen knnen.
<br>
<br>Durch welche lokalen Kooperationen kann ein demokratischer Strukturwandel in
<br>der Lausitz gestaltet werden? Welche berregionalen Politikebenen und deren
<br>Zusammenspiel knnen hierzu aufgegriffen werden? Wie knnen Zielkonflikte und
<br>Synergien zwischen Wirtschafts- und Demokratiefrderung identifiziert und
<br>aufeinander abgestimmt werden?

<br>Dear colleagues and members of this newsletter,

<br>the Institute for Advanced Sustainability
<br>Studies (IASS) in Potsdam conducts research
<br>of climate change, earth system governance and sustainability with the goal of
<br>identifying, advancing and guiding transformation processes towards
<br>sustainable societies. Its research practice is transdisciplinary,
<br>transformative, and co-creative. It is funded by the German federal ministries
<br>and the state of Brandenburg.
<br>
<br>
<br>Right now we are offering three positions for the new research and policy
<br>consulting project Sociostructural Change and Responsive Policy-Advice. The
<br>project ist funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research
<br>(BMBF) and examines the social structural dynamics, that characterize the
<br>"exit from coal" on different geographical scales. It makes suggestions on how
<br>cooperation processes can facilitate a democratically designed structural
<br>change.
<br>
<br>
<br>The research approach is derived from institutional interstices - a concept
<br>describing the collaborative arenas between established political, economic
<br>and civic institutions and their logics. Where do they hinder or enable
<br>cross-sector collaboration - and how can they be shaped? What are the
<br>structures and opportunities to do so?
<br>
<br>
<br>The project and all positions are designed for three years. Please take note,
<br>that German will be the main language throughout major parts of the project.
