<br>From 8th to 9th November 2018, TU Delft will host an international conference
<br>on "Sustainable Urban Energy Systems - Technological prospects, citizen
<br>involvement and governance arrangements". We aim to bring together
<br>researchers, industry and policy makers to explore the technological,
<br>economic, ethical, behavioral, governance and public policy aspects of urban
<br>energy systems.
<br>

<br>Urban energy systems are going through fundamental technological and societal
<br>changes in the transition to sustainable energy systems. From being passive
<br>agglomerations of energy consumption and environmental pollution, the future
<br>energy provision of cities is deemed to be cleaner, smarter, and closer to the
<br>needs of citizens. For a successful transition towards sustainable urban
<br>energy systems, technological and social innovations need to be aligned with
<br>the underlying societal values and guided by the wider institutional and
<br>governance context.
<br>
<br>Topics include, but are not limited to:

<br>        Governance, policy, and regulation of urban energy systems
<br>
<br>        Social innovations and local energy initiatives
<br>
<br>        Responsible innovation in energy systems
<br>
<br>        Energy justice and poverty
<br>
<br>        Energy demand: energy demand side management, energy efficiency,
<br>energy consumption and conservation
<br>
<br>        Public engagement, controversies, and conflicts in changing energy
<br>systems, participatory methods, consumer empowerment
<br>
<br>        Digitalization: smart grid, artificial intelligence and blockchain
<br>technology
<br>
<br>        Integration of energy systems: electricity, gas, and heating
<br>

<br>Guidelines for Submissions
<br>We invite submissions for paper and poster presentations. The abstracts will
<br>be reviewed by members of the organizing committee.
<br>You can find an updated program of panel sessions on the
<br>website. Some of these sessions are open for submission.
<br>If you want to submit your abstract to one of these sessions, please indicate
<br>it in the submission document!
<br>
<br>Abstract submission for papers and poster presentations until 15 June 2018:
<br>Title, 4-6 keywords, name, affiliation and contact details of (corresponding)
<br>authors, abstract of 300 words including aim and methodology, expected or
<br>obtained results; MS Word document
<br>
<br>Authors can present one paper as lead-author. Please send abstracts and
<br>proposals to urbanenergy@tudelft.nl. We strive for publication of selected
<br>papers in a special issue of a peer-reviewed journal.
<br>

<br>All other participants: 150 Euro
