Edinburgh ECR workshop on Social Science & Mental Health Policy, 22 March 2018 - keynote: Norman Lamb MP
Dear colleagues,

I’m delighted to announce an application-only early-career workshop on: ‘Mental Health Policy and Social Science Practice: Enhancing Engagement and Expertise’. This will take place in Edinburgh city centre on the 22nd March 2018. The keynote speaker will be Norman Lamb MP (former Care Minister and current Chair of the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology), with other speakers TBC.

The workshop will run from 10.00 until 15.00, and will be immediately followed by a public panel discussion (finishing at 17.00). Lamb will be in attendance from ~13.30 until 17.00. The workshop is open to 20 ECRs (i.e. PhD students and recent postdoctoral scholars) working in (e.g.) STS, sociology, and anthropology. Successful applicants will be requested to bring posters about their work in order to facilitate speaker feedback.

The ECR event is funded by the British Academy, via a Rising Star Engagement Award; the public panel discussion is sponsored by the Wellcome Trust.

Potential ECR attendees should send a copy of their CV and a short description of their work to martyn.pickersgill@ed.ac.uk by the 16th February. Some funds to facilitate attendance are available; should an applicant wish to apply for a bursary, please detail travel costs and any other sources of funding in the application letter.

I’d be very grateful if you could please circulate this message to any (post-)doctoral researchers who might be interested in attending.

Thank you very much!

All best wishes,

Martyn

Dr Martyn Pickersgill I Wellcome Trust Reader in Social Studies of Biomedicine I Usher Institute of Population Health Sciences & Informatics I Edinburgh Medical School I University of Edinburgh I http://edin.ac/1Vgw0xR I https://twitter.com/PickersgillM
The University of Edinburgh is a charitable body, registered in
Scotland, with registration number SC005336.
_______________________________________________
EASST's Eurograd mailing list
Eurograd (at) lists.easst.net
Unsubscribe or edit subscription options: http://lists.easst.net/listinfo.cgi/eurograd-easst.net

Meet us via https://twitter.com/STSeasst

Report abuses of this list to Eurograd-owner@lists.easst.netview formatted text
