Full professor in Science and Technology Studies, University of Vienna, deadline 17 September 2025
**
Dear colleagues,
*
we are happy to announce that we are currently recruiting for a full professor in Science and Technology Studies. Full details of the role and the application process can be found here (link text below this message).
Candidates:
will have excellent achievements in empirical research, an outstanding publication record, and an international reputation in STS indicated by publications (books, articles in journals and edited volumes central to the field). They will have proven ability to contribute to the development of STS conceptually and ideally institutionally. Their research profile should complement the existing strengths of the department topically, conceptually, and/or methodologically, offering the possibility to diversify department research and teaching and contributing to research interests across the Faculty and University. As an experienced teacher and an engaged academic, they will relate to a broad array of topics in STS in teaching, supervision, and public and policy engagement beyond their specific research profile. They will have proven leadership experience, demonstrating academic collegiality and a commitment to supporting young researchers and co-shaping a thriving intellectual and social environment at the department. Ideally, they are characterized by a strong ability to cooperate with communities/publics for whom their research in particular, or STS in general, is relevant.

Potential candidates are welcome to contact Max Fochler or Sarah Davies (head and deputy head of the department) with enquiries about the role. The deadline for applications is 17th September 2025. We are really excited about this position and the opportunity it represents for us to grow as a department, so do feel free to get in touch!
