Existential Risk

Three job opportunities to research existential risk at the University of
Cambridge are currently being advertised. The successful candidates will work
on some of the most important topics in the world today, produce
ground-breaking and fascinating research, be part of a supportive and
collaborative team, and will achieve real impact with their work.

These positions have funding available for three years (until 30 November
2022) in the first instance.

CSER is an interdisciplinary research centre within the University of
Cambridge dedicated to the study and mitigation of risks that could lead to
human extinction or civilisational collapse.

Research Associate/Senior Research Associate in Public Policy for Global Risk
Explore how best to engage with policy-makers, and turn research into policy.
We are seeking a candidate who is able to draw on the developing science of
global risk and collaborate with stakeholders to develop practical solutions,
concrete proposals and actionable recommendations for policy-makers.

Research Associate/Senior Research Associate In Communication and Outreach for
a Science of Global Risk
We are seeking a candidate who can help us develop methods and communicate
insights to a diverse set of global stakeholders across academia, industry,
government and civil society to improve their ability to envision and
understand their relationship to global risk and its management.

Research Assistant: A Science of Global Risk
Part-time Research Assistant (0.5FTE) to support the work of the Project
Director, Professor Lord Martin Rees and CSER colleagues.
