Job Summary

The School of History and Sociology (hsoc.gatech.edu)
at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia, USA invites
applications for a tenured faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor
in Sociology of Science, Technology, or Medicine, with a focus on Gender,
Race, and/or Ethnicity. Candidates are expected to demonstrate an exceptional
commitment to the teaching and mentoring of students, particularly in the
School's graduate program in the History and Sociology of Technology and
Science, as well as its undergraduate major and minors, especially Women,
Science, and Technology.



Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to teach two courses per semester,
advise and mentor graduate students, maintain an active research agenda, and
engage in professional service at Georgia Tech. The position will begin in
August 2026.



Minimum and Preferred Qualifications

  *   Established record of teaching and mentoring excellence in the field,
including practices that contribute to student success
  *   Established record of research and scholarship in the field commensurate
with rank of Associate Professor
  *   Active and ongoing research program in the field of sociology of
science, technology, or medicine
  *   Leadership experience in departmental, university, and professional
roles

position is filled. An earned doctorate in Sociology, Science and Technology
Studies, or related field is required for the appointment.
