The Institute for Information Management Bremen (ifib) is a not-for-profit
research institute at the University of Bremen. Our main research focus is on
the organisation, management and use of information technologies in public
administrations, in schools and universities as well as in other
not-for-profit organisations.
We are looking to appoint a
Social scientist with a focus on quantitative methods of
empirical social research (0.75 - 1 FTE, 2 years fixed-term)
to join our team and research on the digital transformation of education and
the public sector at the earliest possible date. The position is limited to
two years, however prolongation is possible and desired. The remuneration is
based on German federal pay scale TV-L E13. The grading depends on the
existing previous experience.
You will work independently in research and transfer projects in the area of
digitalisation of education and public administration. As member of our
interdisciplinary teams you will develop in particular appropriate survey
instruments, implement and evaluate the data collection process as well as
prepare results for publication. It is possible to combine research projects
at ifib with pursuing a doctoral degree at the University of Bremen.
Your qualifications include:
- A university degree in social sciences or equivalent field
(Master)
- Extensive experiences in the use of quantitative methods of
empirical social research including appropriate tools (e.g. Stata and/or
SPSS)
- Knowledge in educational research and/or digital transformation of
public administration
- Interest in qualitative empirical research
- Interest in independent research work
- Excellent written and spoken German is required (B2 or better C1)
