We welcome abstracts for the panel Sociomaterial Intimacy
we are organizing
at the 2024 quadrennial joint meeting of the European Association for
the Study of Science and Technology (EASST) and the Society for Social
Studies of Science (4S) - 16 – 19 July
2024

Panel title: Sociomaterial Intimacy: Reflecting on Loving, Caring, and
Translating Technology
Convenors: Roberta Spada (Politecnico di Milano) & Stefano Crabu
(University of Padova)
Short description: By considering both maintenance and repair, and
care and affect, we call for looking at the sociomaterial order by
analysing unnoticed (intimate) gestures and operations happening between
human and non-human agents when repairing, caring for, loving, and
translating technologies into action.
