2 postdoctoral positions on public participation and informality, Maastricht University

Dear colleagues, I am looking for two postdoc researchers to participate in an ERC-funded project “Public participation by other means? Informal practices to engage with matters of collective concern in nondemocratic settings”. The project focuses on the field of health and medicine. Both postdoc positions (100%, 3 years) are at the Department of Health, Ethics and Society, Maastricht University. The project seeks to develop an understanding of public participation beyond institutionally sanctioned formats, public spaces, and deliberative notions. In order to do so, project researchers will look for new modes of public participation in informal practices creatively employed by citizens to contest governance arrangements, especially in settings where they are discouraged from doing so. The overall aim is to identify the kinds of informality that enable people to participate in governing matters of their shared concern and to explicate mechanisms whereby it happens. Postdoc researchers will be working in a team with two PhD researchers and me as the PI. Full vacancy text is provided here: https://www.academictransfer.com/en/297273/2-postdoctoral-positions-on-public-participation-and-informality-in-health-and-medicine-school-caphridepartment-of-health-ethics-and-society/ The deadline for applications is March 10th. Ideally, work on the project should commence as soon as possible. I would be grateful if you could circulate information about these positions around your networks and very much welcome informal enquiries. Best wishes, Olga
