Languages of Technology – Online Lunch Talk & Discussion Series, First session October 9, Program for Fall/Winter

I want to bring your attention to the following online talks that we will organize on the topics of:

Languages of Technology: Prompts, Scripts, Narratives, and Grammars of Composition


We, that's Mark Coeckelbergh, Wenzel Mehnert, Leonie Möck, and Alfred Nordmann, are happy to invite you to our new online Lunch Talk & Discussion Series on questions in philosophy of technology, language, and hermeneutics, every second Wednesday of the month, 12-1:15 PM (CET).

Program for this Fall/Winter:

9 October 2024: Olya Kudina (TU Delft): "Moral hermeneutics: crafting sense-making as a more-than-human practice"

13 November 2024: Bruno Gransche (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology): "What tech metaphors keep us from seeing – technical imaginaries, metaphoric literacy and socio-technical futures”

11 December 2024: Nele Fischer (Berlin Ethics Lab, TU Berlin):“Technofutures, metaphors and critical reflection”

8 January 2025: Enrico Terrone & Nick Young (University of Genoa): "Through a Textbox Darkly: The Metaphysics of Large Language Models"

If you want to attend a session, please send an email to leonie.moeck@univie.ac.at or sign up to our email list via this link, we will distribute the zoom link on the day before the session. Our goal is also to create a network for the exchange on related topics and organization of events. We'll send updates via the list.
