For a better world

We want to build on the success of the first-ever creative writing competition
held in conjunction with the EASST conference in Madrid in July 2022. For a
description and the winning entries see Michela Cozza, Nina Klimburg Witjes
and Sally Wyatt First-ever poetry, flash fiction and short story
competition, in EASST
Review
42(2), 2022.

We are holding a second short story, flash fiction, and poetry competition for
conference participants. Winners will be announced during the conference (date
and time to be confirmed at a later stage), where they will have the
opportunity to read their entry. There will be prizes. Winning entries will be
published in the conference issue of the EASST Review later in 2024.

Rules

Please read the rules carefully before submitting your entry.

General

The competition is open to all conference participants.

All entries must relate to the theme of the conference: Making and
doing transformations.

All entries must be in the working language of the conference, namely
English.

The closing date of the competition is midnight (CET), 1 June 2024.

A single entrant may submit a maximum of one entry per category.

Entries will not be returned, so please keep a copy.

Under no circumstances can alterations be made to poems or stories
after they have been submitted.

All entries must be the entrants original work.

Entries may be single or multiply authored.

Entries must not have been published, self-published, published on a
website or made public on social media, broadcast or featured among the
winners in another competition before 20 July 2024.

All entries should be sent to this email address:
scifi.easst.2024@gmail.com

Entrants will receive confirmation of their submission.

The competition organisers reserve the right to change the judging
panel without notice and not to award prizes if, in the judges opinion, such
an action is justified.

The judges read all the entries; their decisions are final.

Additional Rules: Poems
