We are excited to announce a postdoctoral position in the Natural Resources and Sustainable Development research program at the Department of Earth Sciences, Uppsala University.
The position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to an innovative research project, "Harvesting Energy from Natural and Anthropogenic Vibrations". The project aims to explore the potential of generating green energy from seismic vibrations from natural phenomena like earthquakes and anthropogenic activities such as mining.
The key duties involve analysing the influence of social, economic, and technical factors on energy production from seismic vibrations, engaging with local communities to understand their perspectives and visions on the technology, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of experts.
We seek candidates with PhD degrees in political ecology, human geography, science and technology studies (STS), anthropology, sustainable development, or a related field.
