Short description of the talk

Sarah Richardson will speak on her new book, The Maternal Imprint (Chicago,=
 2021).  The book offers a critical analysis of conceptual and ethical issu=
es=97in particular, the staggering implications for maternal well-being and=
 reproductive autonomy=97provoked by the striking rise of epigenetics and f=
etal origins science in postgenomic biology today.

Sarah S. Richardson is Professor of the History of Science and of Studies o=
f Women, Gender, and Sexuality at Harvard University. She is the director o=
f the Harvard GenderSci Lab, a collaborative, interdisciplinary research la=
b dedicated to generating concepts, methods, and theories for biomedical re=
search on sex and gender.
