CfP: ‘Institutionalized Ignorance in Policy & Regulation’ Special issue of Science as Culture (SaC)

CfP: ‘Institutionalized Ignorance in Policy & Regulation’Special issue of
Scienceas Culture (SaC)

With this proposed special issue, we seek todraw attention to ignorance and
non-knowledge on an institutional level. Thereare clear implications of
ignorance for accountability in policy andregulation, few links have been made
between agnotological perspectives and thestudy of institutionalized ignorance
as a central feature of policy andregulation. We are seeking papers that
substantively addressinstitutionalized ignorance, rather than ignorance more
generally, as itrelates to political processes, policymaking, and regulation.
We welcome contributions based onempirical case studies, as well as conceptual
papers, but seek to prioritizethe former category. When submitting your
abstract please make sure to clearly state how your argument relatesto the
concepts of institutionalized ignorance and policy, not just simplysaying what
the paper will do.
