Job opening Assistant Professor STS at University of Twente

<br>University of Twente, NL is looking for an
<br>Assistant Professor Science, Technology, and Society Studies (STS), with a
<br>focus on shaping and/or governing technology
<br>Your challenge
<br>We are searching for an ambitious new colleague who is able to expand our
<br>education and research expertise in STS. As assistant professor you will bring
<br>in conceptual, technological, interdisciplinary, and methodological
<br>(qualitative and/or quantitative) expertise to explore and explain options and
<br>alternatives for assessing and shaping emerging technology towards desirable
<br>societal goals. You understand technological development and innovation as a
<br>social, inclusive and co-creative process. You are able to contribute to STS
<br>courses at master level as well as to bachelor courses providing an STS
<br>perspective to different programmes.
<br>You will work in an interdisciplinary context, within our department STePS and
<br>across the faculty and university. You will pursue your research and education
<br>activities in an internationally collaborative environment.
<br>Your profile
<br>
<br>  *   You hold a PhD in STS or related social sciences, ideally in combination
<br>with in natural science and/or engineering;
<br>  *   You have a strong interest in operating at crossroads of different
<br>disciplines, certainly with engineers (both students and scholars);
<br>  *   You have knowledge of and proven experience in research and teaching in
<br>the fields of STS, innovation studies, (constructive) technology assessment or
<br>closely related fields;
<br>  *   You have published in international peer-reviewed journals;
<br>  *   Ideally you have experience in the acquisition of external funds;
<br>  *   You have good communication skills, English at C2 level;
<br>  *   To facilitate the professional development and quality of teaching, you
<br>are required to obtain the University Teaching Qualification (UTQ), if not
<br>attained elsewhere. We expect that you will shape your professional
<br>development as a lecturer
<br>  *   You enjoy educating Bachelor and Master students in diverse disciplinary
<br>contexts, and developing creative new teaching elements;
