EASST Fund supports: STS FEST 2: Meeting at the Intersection

8-10 April 2025, Faculty of Political Science at UCM (Madrid)

The Artefakto Group, a collective of young researchers at the Complutense University of Madrid dedicated to Science, Technology, and Society Studies (STS), organized its first seminar, “STS Fest: Approaches to Science, Technology, and Society Studies,” during the 2023/2024 academic year. This year, with the support of EASST and the Department of Sociology: Methodology and Theory (UCM), it is launching a new edition: “STS FEST 2: Meeting at the Intersection,” which will take place from April 8 to 10 at the Faculty of Political Science at UCM (Madrid).

This encounter aims to establish a space for meeting, exchanging ideas, and debating among young STS researchers, facilitating connections and networking—especially for early-career researchers, who often face challenges in accessing such spaces. Additionally, it serves as a platform for sharing research findings and ongoing projects, fostering innovative methodologies and current debates in STS studies.

The event is also conceived as an opportunity to promote dialogue between researchers from diverse fields, both academic and non-academic, encouraging the creation of collaborative networks and an interdisciplinary perspective in the analysis of social phenomena. Furthermore, it embraces an alternative format to traditional conferences, favoring more open and horizontal dynamics.
