We are a new transatlantic collective that found each other through free exchange on social media. We engage with the creation and deployment of social media addressing environmental and energetic concerns. We host Mastodon with renewable energy and reflect on our learning and building process.|Stefan Laser is a postdoctoral researcher at the Collaboratory Research Centre Virtual Worlds (Ruhr-University Bochum). He researches the entanglement of knowledge practices and planetary resources and moderates this collective experiment. She studies how carbon is communicated and contested within different social formations, including climate denialism, the tech sector, and the arts. She also directs the Low-Carbon Research Methods Group and the Experimental Methods and Media Lab.|Estrid Sørensen is a Professor of Cultural Psychology and Anthropology of knowledge at the Ruhr-University Bochum (Germany) and Head of the RUSTlab. He is working on aesthetic forms of negotiation within new media using experimental setups and artistic research. |Maximilian Hepach is a postdoctoral researcher with the Weather Reports project. His research focuses on applying phenomenology, media theory, and cultural geography to questions of air, weather, and climate.|Leman Celik is a doctoral researcher at the Collaboratory Research Centre Virtual Worlds (Ruhr-University Bochum). Her research interest focused on STS studies, including knowledge production, ethnography of science, and databases to understand what counts as data and how researchers work with data.|Koushik Ravi Kumar is a student at Technical University of Munich, currently pursuing a graduate degree in Science and Technology Studies. He is a software engineer by profession, and keenly interested in studying the intersection of technology and society. He is an intern at RUSTLab, focusing on data centers and their impact on sustainability.
