Nikolaus Poechhacker is head of Critical Legal Tech at the Constitutional Innovation Hub Graz and researcher at the Institute of Public Law and Political Science, University of Graz. Before his academic life, he worked as an IT professional. He studied Sociology (BA), Computer Science (EC), and Science and Technology Studies (MA) at the University of Vienna. From 2013 to 2016 he was a research assistant at the Institute for Advanced Studies, Vienna, where he was involved in several projects on RRI. From 2016 to 2020 he was a researcher in the Digital/Media/Lab at MCTS, Technical University of Munich where he investigated the social dimensions of digital technologies and algorithms. In his work he is researching the relationship between democratic institutions, social order, and algorithmic systems in various domains, bringing together perspectives from media theory, STS, computer science, and sociology. Most recently, he is exploring the impact of algorithmic procedures and digital legal technologies on the legal system.|Iris Eisenberger is a Professor of Public Law and European Economic Law and Director of the Constitutional Innovation Hub Graz. Her research focus includes technology law, public economic law, and the protection of fundamental and human rights. Theoretical, methodological, and didactical questions are key elements of her research and her teaching. She has wide experience in interdisciplinary research as well as in running and participating in nationally and internationally funded research projects. After obtaining her PhD in Law from the University of Graz, Austria, and a Master of Science in Political Theory from the London School of Economics and Political Science, UK. She received her habilitation for Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, and the related fields of European Union Law for her book on “Innovation in the Law” from the University of Vienna in 2014. She held a position as Professor of Law and Head of the Institute of Law at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna, from January 2016 until February 2020. She has held visiting positions at numerous renowned universities including the European University Institute in Florence, the University of Freiburg, the Program on Science, Technology and Society at Harvard University, the Mekelle University in Ethiopia, the Macau University and the Technical University Munich.
