Dear all,

for the below workshop some last places are still available. This is a
collectively assembled lunch, please join and enjoy!

To register go here:https://goo.gl/forms/iEPYzeYC4k84Gs1F2

Encounter, create and eat the world: a meal (Workshop)

Location Kitchen
Date and Start Time 26 Jul, 2018 at 12:30

Convenors

* Michael Guggenheim (Goldsmiths, University of London)
* Laura Cuch (University College London)

How do we encounter the world when we cook and eat? From an STS
perspective, cooking and eating are two of the most direct ways of
interacting with the world, and one in which, we constantly re-negotiate
the socio-technical world.

In this workshop we will do STS by cooking a lunch. Each workshop
participant will need to bring two edible ingredients that represent an
important element of interacting with the world for her. We will conduct
a series of exercises to learn about these ingredients, how to cook
them, and learn what they do to our bodies. We will then conduct another
series of exercises to consider the ways we want to create a meal from
these ingredients: We will think through how they politically and
gustatorily sit together, what kinds of transformations we want them to
undergo and what kind of situation (religious, political, technical) to
create to eat the meal. Finally, we will also think through the waste we
produce with our lunch and what to do with it and seek to introduce it
into the meal.

Preregistration to AW01 is open - please follow this link here:
https://goo.gl/forms/iEPYzeYC4k84Gs1F2

--
You can view archived STSGRAD messages at
http://groups.google.com/group/STSGRAD

You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google
Groups "STSGRAD" group.
To post to this group, send email to STSGRAD@googlegroups.com
To unsubscribe from this group, send email to
STSGRAD-unsubscribe@googlegroups.com
For more options, visit this group at http://groups.google.com/group/STSGRAD
---
You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google
Groups "STSGRAD" group.
To unsubscribe from this group and stop receiving emails from it, send
an email to stsgrad+unsubscribe@googlegroups.com
.
For more options, visit https://groups.google.com/d/optout.

--
----------------------------------

Michael Guggenheim
17 Popham Street
N1 8QW London
UK
_______________________________________________
EASST's Eurograd mailing list
Eurograd (at) lists.easst.net
Unsubscribe or edit subscription options: http://lists.easst.net/listinfo.cgi/eurograd-easst.net

Meet us via https://twitter.com/STSeasst

Report abuses of this list to Eurograd-owner@lists.easst.netview formatted text
