Dear all, <br> <br>I hope that the following post might be of interest to some colleagues: <br> <br>Lecturer in Legal Technology and Innovation <br>School of Law and Politics / Cardiff University <br> <br>Advances in technology are likely to represent the largest change and <br>opportunity for the legal profession in coming years. The move towards online <br>courts, the use of technology to perform everyday lawyerly tasks and the use <br>of Artificial Intelligence to analyse and replicate legal decision-making are <br>all likely to revolutionise the workplace for many of our students. <br> <br>The School of Law and Politics at Cardiff University is seeking to appoint a <br>Lecturer (grade 6 / 7) in Legal Technology and Innovation whose research and <br>teaching explores the impact of digital technology and innovation on law and / <br>or legal services. This could include specific expertise in Information <br>Technology Law, the legal consequences and context of artificial intelligence, <br>the interpretation and significance of 'big data', the role of law in relation <br>to the digital economy, e-participation and e-government and other issues <br>concerning emerging digital technologies. <br> <br>The post holder will be expected to carry out research into the effect of <br>technology upon access to justice and upon legal services as well as <br>contributing to our teaching agenda by exploring how the Law curriculum needs <br>to adapt in light of technological change. <br> <br>The post holder will also contribute to the teaching of one or more foundation <br>subjects in Law, supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students, develop <br>links between the Law and Politics departments within the School and <br>contribute to the successful administration and management of the School and <br>its constituent departments. <br> <br>The successful candidate will have obtained a PhD or equivalent in Law, <br>Politics/Political Science, Computer Science or an allied field by the time <br>the appointment begins.
