In response to the worldwide focus sustainability, higher education,
governments and companies have engaged in incorporating and institutionalizing
responsibility into their curricula, research practices and business
operations. In the literature, it is assumed that the individual competency
level is of utmost importance, since professionals can be seen as change
agents that take responsibility for a more responsible future. During this
workshop, we bring various experts together that are specialized in the
individual competency for responsibility in different areas, such as education
(dr. Lambrechts), innovation (prof. Randles) and business (prof. van
Liedekerke), and discuss this topic with dedicated students and staff members
from Wageningen University. The workshop will be continued by the PhD defense
by Lisa Ploum, who wrote her thesis on individual competencies for sustainable
entrepreneurship.
