With the support of the EASST Fund, RUMOS 2024 entitled “Building bridges in times of crises” takes place between the 18th and 22nd of November 2024 at NOVA FCSH, in Lisbon, Portugal. The event is composed of an autumn school targeting early career scholars and a conference with an open call for papers. RUMOS is a biannual event organized by the Thematic Section on Knowledge, Science and Technology of the Portuguese Sociological Association.
The aims of RUMOS 2024 are two-fold. On the one hand, to discuss the potential articulations of STS in and about Portugal with local and global crises and to stimulate a wider debate with the global Southern and Northern STS scholarship. On the other hand, to contribute to the discussion of how STS may have underexplored potential to confront, critically reflect and engage with complex processes and situations deriving from and entangled with social inequalities and injustices; crises, uncertainties, expectations, and risks; ignorance, resignation and doom spirit.
The call for papers and other event-related details will be disseminated in the spring of 2024.
