EASST Fund supports:

Creating an Irish Science, Technology, and Society (STS) Community, hybrid unconference 2024, Ireland

With the support of the EASST Fund and the University College Dublin Centre for Digital Policy, we will be holding a day-long hybrid unconference in early summer 2024: Creating an Irish Science, Technology, and Society (STS) Community. This event, the first of its kind to take place in Ireland, will bring together STS researchers while also welcoming scholars from other countries who are interested in the Irish STS context.

The goal of this inaugural event is to acknowledge the specificities but also international connections/reach of STS (and the general implications of scientific research and policy here in Ireland), bring researchers together for networking from different institutional and disciplinary homes across the island. Our event, which will be presented in an unconference format, will have panel talks and small-group discussions that will explore various facets of the socio-cultural study of technology, science, and medicine.

Event details, registration, and post event archive (including webinars) will be accessible on a dedicated website effective from February 2024.

Please contact event organisers Kalpana Shankar (kalpana.shankar(at)ucd.ie) and Christo Thomas Jacob (christo.jacob(at)ucdconnect.ie) for further information about the conference. The 2024 EASST Review will include a detailed account of the conference.
