PhD position: the STS of translational stem cell research
Center for Medical Science and Technology Studies and reNEW (the Novo Nordi= sk Center for translational stem cell research) are happy to advertise a ne= w salaried PhD position:

After prolonged hopes of future success, this research field now moves into= clinical trials. Stem cell research was part of shaping the whole field of= sociology of expectations and other important work in STS. Engrained withi= n an STS environment and directly funded by a major international stem cell= consortium operating in Denmark, Australia, and The Netherlands, this posi= tion is to explore new takes on the STS of stem cell research.
You might wish to explore how diverse publics perceive of stem cell treatme= nts, how and where they find information, who they trust, and how patients = in actual trials affiliated with the centre make sense of the treatment.
