Dear colleagues, friends and EASST subscribers,

How do museums narrate histories of computing and digital media?

JOIN US for the "Computer legacies" ONLINE symposium on 27 January 2022 at = 3:30 PM =96 6:30 PM GMT.

The symposium builds on research conducted within the AHRC-funded project C= ircuits of Practice: Narrating Histories of Computing and Digital Media in Museum Environments and will provide a= forum to explore new approaches for a historical heritage centred around t= he emergence and development of computing and digital media.

The event will feature a presentation of work conducted in the Circuits of = Practice=92s Digital Atelier, an ensemble developing alternative, challengi= ng, creative ways of understanding and sharing the project=92s findings. Th= en a roundtable will bring together researchers and practitioners from inte= rnational institutions to discuss the role of museums in narrating historie= s of the digital. The event will be closed by a keynote held by Fernando Do= m=EDnguez Rubio, author of Still Life: Ecologies of the Modern Imagination = at the Art Museum (University of Chicago Press, 2020)
