the University of Edinburgh. Researchers will join the internationally-leading
UK Energy Research Centre, and will investigate Local and Regional Energy
Systems in the context of climate emergency.
The first post is for four years and offers candidates with some prior social
science Post-Doc experience and publications the opportunity to develop as a
research leader in social studies of energy. The researcher will investigate
UK policy, politics and material change in local and regional energy systems,
in the context of devolved government, and diverging energy and climate
strategies. You will have expertise in social research methods, including
expert interviews, ethnography and use of archival data. You will also act as
a Deputy Theme Leader for the UK Energy Research Centre (UKERC), developing

expected to develop collaborations with other Theme 2 researchers and the
wider Centre.
